FIRST LITTLE FREE LIBRARY IN INDIANA!

Kate Merchant and Her Little Library

Clark County Red Cross welcomes the first Little Free Library in Indiana!

Yes, I do have a life outside of the Red Cross, and one of my passions is promoting the Little Free Library Indiana movement.  Imagine my delight when I returned to my office after a three-week absence and found a Little Free Library on the front porch of the Red Cross!  The volunteer carpenter of this little beauty is Kate Merchant.

This Little Free Library will be called “Clara’s Books” in honor of Clara Barton, founder of the American Red Cross and angel of the battlefield.  We have a few finishing touches to add to the Little Library before it is “open for business”.  Once it is complete and full of books, we invite our friends and neighbors to stop by and “Take a Book, Leave a Book”.

Congratulations, Kate, on a job well done!
