Good Gardening Reads

May 9, 2012

In a previous post, Plant a Gardening Book, we sent out a request for gardening books to help stock the new little library for the Terraces of Park Place. The call has been answered by Perry Reisert. His parents both passed away recently and since they were voracious readers, they left him quite a pile of books.

So Perry dove into the stacks and came out with quite a few books that fit the requested needs for the little library in the Terraces. Among them are:

  • The Hands-On Gardener:  Pruning (clipping with confidence)
  • Wild Food Plants of Indiana
  • Fred Wiche Lawn & Garden Almanac (For those who may not know, Fred Wiche was a well-known gardening expert in the Kentuckiana area for many years. He really knew his stuff!)
  • An Illustrated Guide to Daylilies (Daylilies are some of the easiest flowers to grow. As perennials, they dutifully reappear year after year and require less maintenance than most flowers.)
  • The Woman’s Day Book of House Plants
  • Southern Living Annuals & Perennials
  • The Essential Gardener (a huge book!)

Many thanks to you Perry!
